New Items

Other Items I've come across that might be of interest which I can supply relating to ebikes and evehicles
Some items are untested, some are just new finds: more info can be supplied if required email solarbbq@hotmail.com

1. meter for working out how to match motor and controller phase and hall sensor wires : brief : makes easier to work out how to connect motor to controller, 36 combinations of phase and hall wires possible, simplifies finding which combination is correct one.
shows if motor/controller are 60/120 degree. Leds flash in pairs, if flash at same time connection is correct, if out of sync reconnect different colours till get leds flashing in sync then you have correct combination ( can save alot of time).

2. pedal drive system : brief : untested recently just found this one its a brushed motor with internal controller. Its still under development by the manufacturer not on the market as yet.

3. 72volt 1200watt for 18" rim: motor is wound for 72volt 1200watt continuous. brief: This is first hub motor i've come across thats wound for 72volt, only available in moulded rim as far as I'm aware. ( untested )

4. 1kw 48volt motors: smaller diameter and larger diameter: quite a few of these motors on the market now, 48v and 35amp controller top speed in 26" rim is about 43km/hr, no load rpm 57km/hr

5. accessory switches: useful item fits on standard handlebar tube:  $10aud each. brief: light switch is latching type, horn switch is non latching type. Blinker switch is latching type.

Hub motors with car rim: untested not likely I'll be testing in near future, but might be of interest to someone

Large diameter brushless motors, tend to be used in low speed heavy electric vehicles, but efficiency is higher than the brushed motors commonly used in similar vehicles. Similiar use to advanced dc motors, either driving via car gearbox, or differential directly. Company can make shaft and mounting plate to match gearbox but they require the gearbox to do so.

Similiar size/dimension to the motor above, saw this motor sitting on a bench in the factory that makes the above motors, its a dual speed brushless high power
motor. I think 5kw is about the max power they make

If need a handbrake can use these to lock bicycle brake handles in position ( $25aud per pair )

some new style drum brakes for ebikes have a lock on them, stops rear wheel moving when locked. Come with a key of course.

Another unusual item is a dual chain differential, commonly used on larger electric trikes in china. The middle differential section can be disconnected
from the axle shafts.  A high power brushed motor is usually used to drive the differential via 2 motorbike size chains. Motor used tend to be 60volt .

Similar to mars motor ( brushless etek motor); untested
typical uses are : motorbike conversions, small ev conversions,  more recently some ultralight aircraft have used pmg motor( very similar but brushed).
Infineon 18fet controller using irf4110 mosfet suitable controller to use with this motor.

ebike horns: $10aud

ebike led headlights: I have some of these and have used, quite good brightness, cheaper option than the cree type led headlights.
$40aud

Can be supplied without bike style housing: $30aud run off 12volt. Probably not bad for low voltage house lighting. cone shaped reflector type is quite directional beam though. Other type at bottom more diffuse light.

inexpensive voltmeter for batts, with lightglobe, also horn built in, horn is not good quality though. Leds can globe can be 24v, 36v or 48v, used with sealed lead acid batteries.
$25aud

unusual item: brushed motor controller built into a headlight. 36v 15amp globe is 36v.
$75aud and freight

new style speedo/voltmeter/throttle for ebike similiar units are used by cyclone with their kits.

Geared type brushless hub motor with gearbox ( only one speed gearbox), I've test riden a moped using this motor, torque is very good, top speeds approx 30km/hr on 48volt 20amp, quite a nicely built motor system. Probably good for very small ev but GC1 motor would be better choice as it has 3 speed gearbox, the motor below has only one gear ratio.

e

a few brushed gear reduction type motors: smaller to largest are: 24v, 36v, 48v

One recent find are in wheel metal battery holders, they form integral part of the bike wheel, supplier will only sell these in larger quantities, I cant do one offs, but might be of interest to someone.

One diy trike, larger picture shows how the trike is shipped, assembly required, insert shows built trike, assembly instructions in chinese, though I can get them translated if anyone is interested in the product!! but a fairly unique item

18650 cell holder: holds 4 cells connects in series, on/off switch, usb connector, led on the package, $10aud each
